MOB & Radio VHF Flashcards.

Two weatherproof, laminated cards for the two moments you cannot afford to fumble: getting someone back aboard, and getting the radio call right. Sized for the chart table or the cockpit — drilled into reach, not buried in a manual.

When something goes wrong at sea, you do not rise to the occasion — you fall back on what is already in front of you. These two cards put the right sequence where your hands and eyes already are.

What you get:

  • Card 1 — Man Overboard (MOB): immediate action, recovery maneuver, the recovery itself and after-recovery care, laid out in numbered steps. The one rule across the top: never lose visual contact.
  • Card 2 — Radio VHF: channel & check, the MAYDAY distress call, PAN-PAN urgency and SÉCURITÉ safety, in the order you actually speak them.
  • Laminated & weatherproof — built to live in the cockpit or at the chart table, spray and all.
  • Field-ready layout — color-coded sections, big headings, readable at a glance under pressure.

A physical companion to the digital Captain's Shield protocol and the Passenger Safety Orientation. The cards are the reflex; the protocols are the training behind them.

Good seamanship first

These cards summarise widely used MOB and VHF distress procedures for quick reference. They support — they do not replace — proper training, your vessel's own drills, or the radio operator's certificate required in your country. Rule 2 always governs: nothing relieves the mariner of the duty of good seamanship.
